Fresh Ground for the Chickens
Today we moved the electrified fence to give the chickens a fresh run beside their stationary coop.
The birds were glad for new grass and plenty to scratch through. Shifting the fence line is simple work, but it is one of those steady homestead chores that pays off in a lot of little ways. The chickens get cleaner ground, fresh forage, and more room to work, and the pasture gets spread-out fertility in return.
It is ordinary work, but good work. These small moves are part of what keeps the system healthy over time.
